As much as I would like Gavin to also be on the swim team, it isn't happening. He is still in diapers. But, he gets to go to all the meets with us and hang out along the side of the pool cheering on all his siblings. He really seems to enjoy the meets and takes the heat and long days in stride. Of course I pack the cooler with watermelon and cheese ball with crackers and that always makes things a little more fun.

Cello and Viola Concert
Camie is learning to play the cello in 5th grade strings. Taneal started playing the viola in 5th grade and has played in 6th and 7th. The end of the school year the middle school had a concert where the 5th grade strings were invited to perform. It was really cool to go to a concert and see Taneal and Camie play together.

Taneal swim team pictures 2013
Taneal is a super good swimmer. She usually places in the top 2. The only girl faster than Taneal on the team swims year round. Taneal wants to be a year round swimmer, just not sure if we are ready for that kind of commitment.
I liked the next few pictures how they showed her dive. Kind of cool.
I also liked the next few pictures showing the progression of her flip turn. Flip turns amaze me. You head straight to the wall at full speed and then suddenly flip and go the opposite way, increasing your speed. Amazing. I sure wish I could do one of those.

Spencer Swim Team Pictures 2013
Spencer has become quite the fast swimmer this year. He figured out this sport and has managed to win first place at almost every meet. He can complete 25 yards freestyle in 21 seconds. He usually gets first or second place in the backstroke for all the 6 and unders. It is pretty amazing watching him speed through the water and win. He is pretty proud of himself too, although he tries not to show his excitement.
He wants to do year round swimming, but hasn't learned all the strokes yet so he must wait until then. He was begging me to teach him all the strokes so he can make the year round swim team. I don't know them well enough to teach them. All my girls do, but maybe not well enough to teach how to do it. And I also can't wait till this little man learns to dive. He thinks he dives correctly, but the pictures show his feet are going in first. I love watching the beginners dive. They all get their hands in the diving position and then jump in feet first. And they are so proud because they think they dive correctly. Seriously the best.
