So, I decided to check who is viewing my blog. Russia. China. Brazil. Mostly United States. But a lot of Russia. I don't know anyone in Russia.
Not good. Am I putting my family in harms way by having a blog? Not sure. Please leave your comments and let me know what you think.

Hey Steph. This is something I debate all the time. It is why I use code names for my kids. But I know quite a few local bloggers who write about their kids, use their names, say the city they live in and post pictures of the front of their house. They have had no issues (so far). I think it all comes down to this: there are good people and there are bad people. I like to believe there are more good people than bad people. My blog has helped me reach out to people in other countries who I am now friends with. Writing is an outlet for me, something I love to do. I also love knowing that some people like what I write enough to come back and read again whenever I post something new. There is so much good that can come from blogging and occasionally something bad can happen like it did with your friend. Some of the traffic you get on your blog could be people who search for things like 'Asparagus Soup recipe' and your blog comes up. Who knows? I don't know if there's a wrong or right answer here. I'd love to hear what other people have to say.
If it pops up Singapore...it's us, we're still here! ;) No really, I don't think that there is a right or wrong decision. Every single family is different. The main thing to think about though, is that if you do go private, you still need to take precautions. More than likely, you will not be actually targeted, but it's still possible for people to get information when they want to. With Jeremy's job, we are still public, but not searchable. Good luck.
