I am thankful for my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is Christ's true church. It is the same church with the same doctrine that was established by Christ himself back when Christ lived on the earth. It was restored through Joseph Smith. It has prophets and apostles, just like in the time of Christ, who receive revelation for us today. And I can pray for myself to know that these things are true.
Aside from being a member of an amazing church, I am thankful for who I am and who I can become as I try to be a better person, which is what being a Christian is all about. I try to overcome the natural man and not take the easy road, but the road worth traveling. It isn't easy and I am far from perfect, but I try. I may be pretty far off, but as long as I am trying, that is what counts.
I love serving in church, even if nobody in my church is compensated. My calling takes a lot of time, but I am learning so much, being so blessed.
My church is who I am. My thoughts, my decisions. It brings me peace. It brings me happiness. And it makes my family eternal, not at "death do you part". We are a forever family that will carry on into the next life.
I am so thankful for the restored gospel on the earth. And I am thankful for my parents who raised me in the church, for grandparents who embraced the gospel.
I am thankful for modern day revelation of The Proclamation on the Family. I read it often and it helps me be a better mom and wife.
I am thankful for Jesus Christ who set the perfect example to follow. Who made it possible for me to repent so I can return to my Father in Heaven and be with my family forever.
I am not a good enough writer to describe the feelings of gratitude in my heart for my Savior and my membership in His restored church. I am very thankful.
