A few months ago some of our friends moved away and sold us their diningroom table for $100. It seats 12, has leaves in it, and fits well in the breakfast room. We took out one of the leaves so it seats 8. Perfect for my size family. I love the table, even though it is in the process of being refinished. The chairs don't match, the table still has flaws on it. But my family comfortably gathers around the table for breakfast and supper. We can sit around it and talk. We can be together around the table. The kids spend countless hours sitting at the table coloring. We play games at the table. And I scrub that table daily. I scrub under that table weekly. And I daily sweep the mess that created happiness around that table. Our table brings my family closer together. And I am thankful for that. One day I will have a pretty table and that will be nice, but my table not being pretty means it can take the abuse the kids dish out. And it gives me no worries. Another reason I am thankful for my table.

I'm so glad you got that table. Oh, and I love your new family picture. I just knew they'd turn out well.
