In the beginning, you have to exchange shoes for skates. Then help each child put their skates on. Well, not Taneal and Camie, but the rest. And then they usually need them adjusted. And then they fall a lot. It takes about 30 minutes to get going, but then it's fun. So much fun that the kids weren't ready to go after 4 hours!
Gavin still isn't really old enough to be able to skate. He is 2 and just isn't ready. Taneal and I did take him out a few times and it was a whole lot of work and not really much fun for anyone. But Gavin really wanted to and was pretty put out when I took his skates off.
I texted pictures to my mom while we were skating and she sent back this collage she made. Probably easier for you as the reader to see rather than tons of pictures.
