Last night at bedtime, I was very ready to go to bed. I think almost as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out. Which is unusual for me. An hour later, Danielle, who had fallen asleep on my bedroom floor because her tummy hurt, began throwing up. Fortunately she made it in the bowl, so there wasn't as big of a mess to clean up and no carpets to scrub. She threw up for the next 5 hours.
Another lousy night, but at least her sickness was also short-lived.
She finally quit throwing up around 3am. I was so tired that I must have fallen into a deep sleep.
I recall rolling over and my arm hit something wet. I smelled my arm and it was definitely pee. Seriously? How could pee be in my bed. I hadn't wet the bed. I heard Evan in the bathroom (which was probably what woke me up) and I really wondered if he had wet the bed. I pushed that thought aside because that was crazy. Adults don't pee the bed. I was too tired to do anything about it. And the pee, as large of an area as it was, wasn't touching my side of the bed. So, I fell back to sleep.
I awoke this morning and Evan was gone. I rechecked the area that was wet last night and it was still indeed pee. By brain was a little more awake. It couldn't have been Gavin or Nathan because they sleep with diapers at night. Danielle was asleep on the floor. But nobody had climbed in bed last night.
I called for Spencer.
I asked him if he had peed my bed. He got this embarrassed look on his face and said, totally defending himself, "Yes. But I don't know how I got into your bed. I just woke up because I had peed and I was in your bed!"
Spencer doesn't really wet the bed anymore. Maybe once every other month. So this was unusual.
But seriously. Two nights in a row of throw up, and then having a kid pee in my bed. And a big kid at that!
At least it wasn't Evan.
